Reflecting on the set first reading for the thirteenth Sunday after Trinity, the iconic story of Joseph and his brothers, as told in Genesis 45.1-15, this sermon reflects on God’s transformative power in the lives of Joseph and his family, especially in the life of his father Jacob.  It encourages us to reflect on the opportunities for change given to us, and to recognise the new things that God might wish to begin in our own lives.
